Richborough Energy Park
Welcome to the Richborough Energy Park website which sets out our proposals for redeveloping the derelict, brownfield power station site as a new hub for green energy production.
Since May 2011 we have hosted a number of public consultation events and conducted extensive environmental studies of the site.
In 2012 we completed the demolition of all remaining structures on the site including the cooling towers and chimney, removing the final hurdle to redevelopment.
In a joint decision made in June 2013, Thanet and Dover District Councils granted planning permission for a 42MW Peaking Plant as well as approving a second application for site infrastructure. The decision marks the culmination of over 3 years of consultation and technical studies.
